At the edge of a water filled gravel pit, opposite waste ground and bordering the A27 at the end of Quarry Lane in Chichester, the site was originally a cement works called Coles Yard. Looking like a bomb site when Geoff and Richard bought it in late 1968 (date needed), it was transformed slowly into a workshop with a sort of roof, and a shop/showroom.

My first sight of the place was in 1969 when I turned up at the door at the age of 16 having been prodded in the right direction by my Dad who knew Richard.
